I have just purchased (a month ago) my first cruiser bike (had dirt bikes growing up) and I'm pleased to say it's a Savage. I've been reading all the posts about the muffler mods and for my pockets sake, I'm going to try the Hartman mod. (I think the bike sounds like a '72 VW Bug) I've got access to everything I need but I'm not the most suave person when it comes to parts and such. I was curious to know a few things... 1) does anyone have pictures throughout the process? 2) how much bigger pipe should I put on from the middle baffle? 3) What is the picture of that little looking pipe or "cigarette looking device" in the first baffle (coming from the header)and is it ok to leave there? and.. 4)My pipe is leaking around the connection to the muffler, I took it off today and the gaskets/rings are broken up and basically gone/not usable. So what can I use here? I have read all the previous posts about muffler mods, kinds you can buy and so on. I can do the work no problem but scared of screwing something up if I don't know all the full details. (I also have the drawing for the Hartman mod) Also, what are these "white spacers" or whatever people are talking about??? and on a final note... it's a 1995 purple with darkish ghost flames .. I love the bike, even if I buy another, I won't sell it. Got it for a steal at the price I paid. Any and all suggestions would be GREAT!! Thanks again...
